A parable is a short story used to pass across a moral lesson. Jesus used a lot of parables in the Bible for His teachings and one of it is the parable of the Talents. It’s about a rich man leaving town and he calls his servants and gives one 5 talents, another 2 and the last 1.
This rich man represents God and my first issue is that if you are God why don’t you give us an equal playing field, why don’t you give us all 5 talents.
I mean you give this brother 5, that sister 2 and then you give me 1!!!! Absolutely wrong.
Unfortunately, this mindset is what a lot of people go about with. How many times do we give excuses of if only my family was as wealthy as theirs or if only I can have the type of education this other person has had, then will I do better with my life.
Do you know in the parable the servant with 5 talents traded and got a 100% increase of 10 talents? The servant with 2 talents did the same and he had 4, but the brother with 1 hid it in the ground out of fear and did absolutely nothing until his master came back.
‘Out of fear’, how many things has fear stopped us from doing. But I remind myself that God has not given me the spirit of fear, but HE has given me the spirit of power of love and of a sound mind.
To think if this servant added just a little effort he would have gotten a 100% increase too. Can we see how the more we are concerned about the little we have the less we do.
Funny fact before he was punished his one talent was taken from him and given to the servant who now had 10 talents.
The biggest lesson from here is
‘God has given you all you need to get the best out of life’.
When DJ Cuppy was told that she has gotten to the level she is at because of her father’s fortune, she replied by saying everyone is given a platform in life – some bigger than others, but we all have to use the platforms aright (paraphrased).
We go about thinking how rich people don’t work, that they have everything handed to them. We complain that we couldn’t achieve some certain things because we are sick but people with terminal diseases are still changing their world.
I’m not trying to look down on your situation because I know you have been through a lot in life, but it’s time to get up, the world is waiting for you to get up.
The money will come, the travels will come but in the meantime whatever you need is already with you. It’s time to move!
The world is waiting for your success story
