The thought of believing in an afterlife is one of the things that brings hope when this world does not make sense.

There are many people who believe this life is all there is to their existence and there is also a category of people who believe that since there’s a better place out there why do any good in the one we are in. To them we should hold our breaths and tiptoe through life until it’s over.

In summary, they are so heaven bound that they become earthly irrelevant.

I know God is an intentional God and everything works according to His plan. Hence, it will be insulting to insinuate He left us here just to pass time.

Picture the cross and its members. Notice how the vertical member is longer which signifies the connection a man has with God and the horizontal the relationship one has with his fellow man. This clearly shows how your spirituality is far more important than your earthly connection. But the cross would lose its balance if the horizontal member is completely taken away.

How many of us have lost balance because we do not take into cognizance the here and now.

Going back to the beginning, after creation God gave man 5 basic instructions:

Be fruitful: Bearing fruit is equivalent to showing results. The bible says there is seed time and after that comes harvest time. There is a time where you would be planning, planting and watering your seeds, but you have to come to the point where you bring forth fruits.

In simple terms, God wants your life to have results. My strong’s concordance says this means to grow and increase. Do you know that your lack of increase on earth is against God’s plan? I mean it is okay to have low days but be intentional about increase. Little things will accumulate to one big thing so start by learning one new thing every day.

Growth takes time. You will not move from seed to fruit in just a day. Some trees take up to 30 years before they are fully grown, but through out that time they are constantly growing. Focus on your journey and make up your mind to grow.

Jesus Christ our perfect example, started ministry at 30 but even in his young age he was constantly found in the temple. Focus on your growth and your fruits will come. Be encouraged.

Multiply: To multiply means to bring in abundance in whatever aspect, enlarge and increase. Remember the parable of the talent? The master assigned to his servants’ different talent and what he required of them is to have a 100% increase of whatever was given. You have unique talents and gifts that were not given to you just because.

Parable of the Talent

Using a seed as an analogy, when one seed is planted and it is groomed, it grows to become much bigger than the initial size planted and bears much more fruits. Again, this is a process that happens naturally and that takes time. When the seed dies, it begins to germinate and grow and eventually multiply. So do not just bear fruits, bear fruits in a hundredfold. Increase in whatever capacity you possibly can.

Replenish the earth: This means you should fill up the earth. Notice that one instruction leads to another. You will replenish this earth when you multiply the gifts and talents given to you. You will replenish the earth by bearing and raising godly children who becomes your heritage and continues from where you stop.

God instructs to specifically replenish the earth. Your relevance on earth matters

Subdue the earth: To subdue means to conquer. And guess what the bible says? That you are even more than a conqueror. You are an overcomer. You bring the earth under subjection as the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.

And have dominion

I am in the will of God when I grow and increase. I am in His will when I preserve and add to this earth whether it’s in knowledge or otherwise and when I take dominion over the powers of darkness.

I had to just extract this one:

“I am in the will of God when I grow and increase.”

Let me go back to my uni days. “Gbam!” That was what I kept thinking when I started reading. Be heavenly minded, earthly relevant.

Thank you, Sis.
